Many things to do in and around Chiang Mai, Thailand.
On Sundays the absolute best thing to do is take in "Walking Street".
Much better variety of merchandise as compared to the Night Bazaar as well as fantastic foods and snacks and fruits to munch on or dine on during the day.
Walking street stretches from Thae Pae Gate where about a hundred vendors are selling their merchandise and filling up the entire square in front of the gate to streets behind the gate. If you are strolling and looking at some merchandise then it will keep you busy for part of the afternoon and evening.
Walking street starts behind Thae Pae Gate and runs for blocks and closed to traffic. About 100 yards from Thae Pae Gate heading west you will find Sam Phao temple and that is the best place to eat from what I have read and from what I have tasted.
Children, adults, couples will all love Walking Street.
One of the most enjoyable things to do while you are in Chiang Mai and one of the cheapest outings you will have anywhere.
Well my choices were steak, sausage, mashed potatoes and veggies for 45 baht, large strawberry yogurt shake for 30 baht and about 30 baht for 5 pieces of sushi and wasabi. Total comes to 105 baht or less than $3 US.
Bring the kids, bring grandma and grandpa or bring your wife or Thai girlfriend as everyone will love the shopping, dining and snacks.
